BUBBLY blonde Sue Upton appears in the latest naughty Confessions film… and she's the only dollybird who keeps her clothes on.

"All the other girls strip off and lure Robin Askwith into bed, but I have a character part and I much prefer that," said 22-year-old Sue.

In the film Confessions from a Holiday Camp, Sue has a Plain Jane role as Reen, holidaying with her friend Glad (Caroline Ellis).

"I was lucky to get the part", said Sue, originally from Chadwell Heath. "But I'm unrecognizable — I hope. I have freckles, glasses, scrape my hair into bunches and have a gap painted on my teeth. I don't even have a chance to reveal myself as I really am in the film."

Sue got the part after auditioning at the EMI studios in Borehamwood[,] Herts last March.

"Every girl I know seemed to be at the audition", she said. "We all do the rounds when we hear of jobs going and get to know each other. We become quite friendly."

But she heard no more until April, when her agent Aida Foster telephoned to say Sue had a part in the film, and had to be on location at a holiday camp in Hayling Island in four days' time.

"It was hardly any notice really, but I rushed down there.

"It was very cold work. We all stood around in bikinis in sleet and sometimes snow. The crew had to come round with flasks of brandy to keep us warm. If we weren't needed, we huddled together in a hut wrapped in blankets."

Sue stayed at the holiday camp for about three weeks, and completed her work at the EMI studio.

She did modelling in between, and is now working with Dick Emery on his new series, back to normal as a sexy young blonde.

"I am still really a full-time photographic model rather than actress", she said. "Mainly because acting jobs are harder to come by and modelling pays more."

But Sue refuses to do nude modelling. She has turned down an offer from the Sun to be a Page Three girl.

"She doesn't really approve of taking her clothes off just to get a job", said Sue's widowed mother Louise, 52, of Salcombe Drive, Chadwell Heath. "And her husband Roger doesn't like the idea of it either."

Sue married Roger Whatling, 26, of the Tonix pop group a month ago, and they live in Harlow Road, Rainham. They'd known each other for six years and were engaged for three. Roger works for Mecca, and is considering a residency at dance halls either in Wimbledon or Harlow.

But Sue may give up modelling if the BBC Comedy Special she appeared in with Thora Hird is turned into a series.

"Regular appearances in a series would really boost my career" she said. "But at the moment I'm waiting to hear if anything takes off."
